Wichita County USD 467 is a 2A school district located in Leoti, Wichita County, Kansas. Wichita County teachers teach in a positive, supportive environment with low student to teacher ratios. We continue to meet Adequate Yearly Progress standards. USD 467 is proud of its reputation for excellence in Education and has high expectations for all students. Both attendance centers, Wichita County Junior-Senior High School and Wichita County Elementary, have received many Standards of Excellence awards. Wichita County Senior High has twice been recognized by US News and World Report for academic excellence. Wichita County schools receive great support from a community that values Education. Teachers are valued in our community. It has been said "That you will never be treated any better than in USD 467." Teachers in Wichita County have exceptional accessibility to technology for instruction and it is encouraged. With ample opportunity for in-service activities, the school district belongs to the Southwest Plains Regional Service Center. Teachers are included as an important part of district wide decision making and continuous improvement. Wichita County is located approximately 30 miles east of the Colorado border and halfway between Nebraska and Oklahoma in western Kansas. The community has quality health care, recreation, and other amenities expected in a community our size. Enrollment is steady with a student population of 418 in Pre-K to 12. In 2009 Wichita County passed a bond issue to build a new grade school which opened in August of 2011. The district has a dedicated Agriculture Building, Greenhouse, and a Weight Room facility.
