Responsibilities include teaching middle and high school band classes; planning and leading rehearsals, concerts, and performances; supporting student growth in musical skills and teamwork; building positive relationships with students and families; communicating effectively with colleagues; and participating in school and community events connected to the band program. A Kansas teaching license in music education, or the ability to obtain one, is required. Band teaching experience, strong classroom management and communication skills, a student-first approach to teaching and learning, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team are preferred.
