Greenbush The Southeast Kansas Education Service Center is seeking applications for a Medicaid Clerk II at the Girard, KS campus.

 

Anticipated Start Date: 07/01/2025.  Position will remain open until filled. Equal Opportunity Employer. Must have legal ability to work in the United States without sponsorship. Competitive salary commensurate with experience.

 

Job Summary: Responsible for the accurate handling of all special education Medicaid claims and ensuring the processing is accurate and timely.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required: 

  1. High school diploma or certificate of equivalency.
  2. Computer experience including, but not limited to, spreadsheets, data input, word processing, and scanning.
  3. Observation of strict confidentiality of records.

 

Preferred:

  1. Bachelors degree and medical records experience.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Essential Functions:

  1. Data record keeping for assigned agencies and Medicaid/Third Party Billing billing services.
  2. Maintains student data and logs specific to the student for billing in a timely manner.
  3. Maintains a professional relationship with the District Contacts at the assigned agencies.
  4. Provide reports from data as needed for assigned agency and Director as needed.
  5. Maintains confidentiality for all aspects of the business as required by HIPPA and FERPA.
  6. Completes monthly analysis of district-level data at the presubmission and post-submission levels.
  7. Completes quarterly analysis of district-level data to the Director.
  8. Completes year-end analysis and system review for the Director.
  9. Maintains a high level of communication with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KMAP).

 

General Responsibilities:

  1. Answers phones for the department and agency as needed.
  2. Must support the Service Center's mission, goals, and objectives.
  3. Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.
  4. Must maintain strict confidentiality.
  5. Must demonstrate proficiency in the ability to produce excellent work as requested by the executive team.
  6. Must assume responsibility for individual professional growth by staying current with literature, research, and/or practices.
  7. Must demonstrate proficiency in the ability to effectively and regularly communicate with Service Center employees and constituents.
  8. Must complete all assignments in a time-sensitive manner as determined by the Supervisor.
  9. Must meet all safety requirements as directed by the Service Center.
  10. Must perform other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Director or designee.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Ability to lift a maximum of 40 pounds.
  2. Manages all job duties with mobility, agility, and dexterity.
  3. Requires long periods of sitting.
  4. Work in a noisy environment with many interruptions.
