School Improvement Services Administrator 

Position Overview: The School Improvement Services Administrator partners with school districts, educators, and leaders across the region to provide high-quality professional learning, facilitation, and consultative support that strengthens systems, improves instructional practice, and advances student achievement. The SIS Administrator designs and facilitates impactful professional development and supports the effective implementation of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and school improvement initiatives. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, and a growth mindset, as work occurs in varied settings and environments.

In this role, the School Improvement Services Administrator communicates effectively with service center colleagues and constituents, collaborates productively with stakeholders, and maintains strict confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and HIPAA. As a member of a mission-driven team, the School Improvement Services Administrator supports a culture of professionalism, quality service, and continuous improvement. QUALIFICATIONS:

Required: A valid drivers license is required for employment. REAL ID is required if air travel is necessary to complete job duties.

  4. Valid Kansas Teaching license.



Preferred:

  1. Valid Kansas Building or District Administrator license. 
  2. Experience in a building or district-level role with responsibilities for leading and/or coaching curriculum, instruction, assessment, and school improvement efforts.
  3. Working knowledge of Google Workspace tools (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Calendar, Google communication) and Microsoft Office applications. 
  4. Ability to learn and use Human Resources Information Systems, payroll, and timekeeping systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

General Functions:

  6. Demonstrate punctuality and consistency in attendance. 
  7. Adapt to varying work environments, including both in-person and remote work.
  8. Adjust to changing work schedules and extended hours, as necessary.
  9. Travel throughout the state and, at times, nationally, including air travel, and overnight stays.
  10. Prepare for and productively participate in one-to-one, team, department, and organizational meetings. 
  11. Uses technology appropriately and effectively, including the ability to navigate multiple internal, technology-based information systems to support service delivery and assigned responsibilities.
  12. Complete all assignments in a time-sensitive manner as determined by your Director or designee.
  13. Maintain timely and accurate documentation. 
  14. Uphold strict confidentiality as outlined by FERPA and HIPAA. 
  15. Implement and follow all SEKESC health and safety policies, including all precautions of the bloodborne pathogens exposure control plan.
  16. Provide appropriate SEKESC supervisors with reports on specific professional development and services provided

Essential Functions:

  1. Provide professional learning workshops, consultative sessions, and collaborative cadres for teachers at all career stages, supporting instructional growth, continuous improvement, and classroom-level outcomes.
  2. Design and facilitate high-impact professional learning and leadership development experiences that build educator and leader capacity while aligning with state, organizational, and district priorities.
  3. Collaborate with school districts, educators, and regional partners to design, deliver, and refine services and programming aligned to district needs and improvement priorities.
  4. Collaborate with internal service center teams and regional partners to strategically coordinate supports, align services, and advance system-wide improvement efforts.
  5. Support districts in evaluating systems, practices, and outcomes through data analysis, observation, reporting, and collaborative problem-solving.
  6. Provide support for school improvement planning and accreditation processes.
  7. Report on the status, progress, and outcomes of programs and services at the request of districts, colleagues, and organizational leadership.

  2. Develop and apply skills in order to transfer knowledge into practice.
  3. Plan and design credible content for a virtual and field-based setting, demonstrating initiative in outreach, preparation, and coordination with minimal daily supervision.
  4. Deliver credible professional development experiences, model best-practices, and reflect for continuous individual improvement. 
  5. Adapt professional learning and consultative, and coaching supports to a variety of contexts, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness to district and school needs.
  6. Engage in continuous professional growth by reflecting on feedback, participating in professional learning, and applying lessons learned to improve personal practice and support that is provided.
  7. Contribute to a positive team culture by demonstrating professionalism, accountability, equity, and commitment to ongoing improvement in all work.
  8. Support districts in implementing systems, practices, and strategies that improve teaching, learning, curriculum, instruction, and student achievement.
  9. Interpret and apply federal and state regulations and guidance to real-world district contexts, supporting others in translating policy into effective, sustainable practice.
  10. Work individually and collaboratively with staff and programs within SEKESC, from other Service Centers, or business partners to support the instructional resource needs of schools and districts.
  11. Ability to coordinate special events (i.e. workshops, symposiums, lunch & learns, conferences), as needed.
  12. Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Learning and Leadership Services Chief Officer, Director, or designee.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Manage all job duties with mobility, agility, and dexterity.
  • Requires long periods of sitting (office and vehicle) and standing (while presenting, etc.)  
  • Requires long periods of sustained focus and concentration.
  • Must occasionally work in noisy and crowded environments with numerous interruptions.
  • Up to 50-70% travel both locally, long distances, and overnight travel.
