Greenbush - The Southeast Kansas Education Service Center is seeking applications for a CACFP Bilingual Program Assistant at Russell Child Development Center.

 

Anticipated Start Date: 10/01/2024. Position will remain open until filled. Equal Opportunity Employer. Must have legal ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.

 

Job Summary: Assist the CACFP director in processing monthly CACFP claims for accurate federal reimbursement. Assist in completing Home Visits in all 19 counties throughout the year. Assist the CACFP director with training, newsletters, and all forms of communication with childcare providers. Provide interpreting and translating to/from English to the familys native language. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Required: 

  • Job-related experience within the specialized field
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent 
  • Valid driver's license for employment
  • Successful completion of Defensive Driving course, First Aid/CPR, Child Abuse and Neglect, provided by RCDC
  • TB Skin Test 
  • Background Clearance

 

Preferred: 

  • Associate's degree in the job-related area preferred. Relevant experience considered. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Essential Functions: 

  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment. 
  • Assists in developing, communicating, implementing, and evaluating quality processes to meet established program guidelines (rules, regulations, standards, etc.). 
  • Review childcare provider claims and conducts on-site visits in 19 counties to ensure healthful and sanitary conditions, capacity compliance, proper meal planning, serving, and record keeping. 
  • Gather and maintain confidential and non-confidential documents, files, and records. 
  • Interpret and translate a wide variety of verbal and written communications, verbatim and idiomatic materials, and conversations, to facilitate effective communication with childcare providers. 
  • Verify the accuracy of translations made by others through reviewing and editing materials for accuracy, context, readability, grammar, and style. 
  • Keeps accurate records and assists in data entry, computing, and filing monthly claims for reimbursement.
  • Assists in delivering information at meetings and trainings involving various issues to convey/gain knowledge and represent the agency. 
  • Assists in preparing materials to document activities, provide written references, and convey information. 
  • Maintains current knowledge (e.g., best practices, policies, procedures, guidelines, regulations, etc.) to provide information, secure general information, and respond to requests. 
  • Adheres to all professional guidelines as outlined in agency policies. 
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the agency. 

General Responsibilities:

  • Support the mission, goals, and objectives of RCDC. 
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills. 
  • Maintain strict confidentiality as outlined by FERPA and HIPAA. 
  • Ability to work alone and in groups to provide services. 
  • Assume responsibility for individual professional growth by staying current with research and practices. 
  • Demonstrate proficiency in effectively and regularly communicating with other employees of RCDC and clients. 
  • Complete all assignments timely, including communication with other staff and clients or contractors. 
  • Adhere to all professional guidelines as outlined in agency policies. 
  • Independently manage daily assignments and activities, ensuring performance outcomes are achieved within budget, timeline, department, and agency objectives. 
  • Follow all safety requirements as directed by RCDC. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director, Supervisor, or designee. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • 70 % sitting, 15% walking, and 15% standing.
  • Lifting up to 30 pounds. 
  • Manage all job duties with mobility, agility, and dexterity. 
  • Sit/stand for long periods of time. 
  • Ability to drive in varying weather and geographical conditions. 
  • The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard-free environment. 

 

Experience Job-related experience with increasing levels of responsibility within the specialized field is required.
