STARBASE Kansas City is seeking a dynamic individual to join our dedicated team. As part of the Department of Defense (DoD) STARBASE program, our mission is to inspire and improve the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) skills of at-risk youth by connecting them with real-world technology and positive role models found on military installations.

Our program serves primarily 5th-grade students from Title I schools across the Kansas City area. We offer engaging, hands-on STEM lessons that foster curiosity, confidence, and academic growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  Assists in classroom preparation and instructional duties.

  Assists with organizing equipment, supplies, and preparing paperwork for STARBASE.

  Helps in maintaining the classroom and facilities, equipment, and supplies.

  Assists in implementing projects related to public information and promotional activities.

  Provides volunteers with needed equipment and supplies.

Administrative Support

   Provide administrative support to the Site Director to include but not limited to executing approved purchases, accounting for revenues and expenditures, and reporting program participation and administrative activities.

   Responsible for reports and file maintenance as needed.

   Responsible for maintenance and reporting of STARBASE inventory as needed.

   Assists in researching, planning for, and obtaining needed equipment and supplies based upon needs and budget.

Other duties as assigned, such as STARBASE 2.0, STARBASE 3.0, and outreach opportunities in the community.

Occasional overnight travel regarding national STARBASE meetings and training as required per State Comptroller's travel policies and procedures. State-wide travel as needed to participate in staff development, program development meetings, and school visits.
