Maize USD 266 • www.usd266.com

Maize is projecting a need for additional Low Incidence Special Education Teachers for the 2025-26 school year.  If you have a passion for working with this population of students, we need you!

Maize has a lot to offer teachers new to the district and those new to the profession.  All new teachers are matched with a qualified mentor and both the mentor and mentee are supported by our team of Student Support Specialists and Instructional Coaches.

Special Education Teachers receive additional training and support for the aspects that make their jobs unique.  They also receive four half-days out of the classroom each year to work on IEPs and documentation.  We recognize that Low Incidence Teachers have additional responsibilities and challenges and provide them with additional compensation (7% supplemental).  Maize is also resource rich in paras, administrators, counselors and support staff which creates a supportive work environment.

Our teachers are encouraged to continue to learn and grow.  Many of our Low Incidence Teachers are working on their Masters degree in Special Education while teaching on a waiver.  Tuition is reimbursed at $300 per credit hour.  We also offer a professional learning series that qualifies for college credits.
