Low Incidence Special Education (FAA) Teacher at MCEMaize USD 266 • www.usd266.com Maize Central Elementary is seeking a Low Incidence Special Education teacher for the Functional Applied Academics program. This teacher supports the instructional process with specific responsibility for facilitating learning for special education students; instructing, assessing, and program planning for students with a primary disability of autism, moderate to severe intellectual disabilities, serious emotional and behavioral disorders, and multiple disabilities; monitoring and evaluating student progress and behavior; researching, obtaining, and providing instructional materials for special education services; serving as a resource for students, parents, and District personnel; working within a pull- out environment or within a self-contained classroom. Benefits Special Education Teachers receive additional training and support for the aspects that make their jobs unique. They also receive four half-days out of the classroom each year to work on IEPs and documentation. We recognize that low incidence teachers have additional responsibilities and challenges and provide them with additional compensation (7% supplemental). Maize is also resource rich in paras, administrators, counselors and support staff which creates a supportive work environment. Our teachers are encouraged to continue to learn and grow. Many of our Low Incidence Teachers are working on their Masters degree in Special Education while teaching on a waiver. Tuition is reimbursed at $300 per credit hour. We also offer a professional learning series that qualifies for college credits.
