Maize USD 266 is seeking a strong leader to oversee the Human Resources Department and guide the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, professional development, and retention. This role is critical to building and sustaining a high-quality workforce that supports the districts mission and strategic plan. Qualifications: Education/Certification: Master's degree in Human Resources, Education or related field Special Knowledge/Skills: Human Resources Certification preferred Experience: Minimum of three years of progressive leadership experience Major Responsibilities and Duties: - Develop and implement district-wide recruitment and retention strategies aligned with the districts strategic plan.
- Provide leadership for employee relations, including investigations, discipline, contract interpretation, and grievance administration, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and negotiated agreement.
- Serve as a coach and resource to supervisors and building leaders on performance management, documentation, and effective employee relations practices.
- Ensure district compliance with all applicable employment, labor, and payroll laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with the district leadership team to design and deliver professional development and training that supports employee growth, leadership capacity, and organizational effectiveness.
- Lead the development, implementation, and administration of policies, administrative procedures, and HR practices that promote consistency, efficiency, and legal compliance.
- Recruit, develop, supervise, and evaluate Human Resources staff, establishing clear expectations and fostering a high-performing, service-oriented team.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with building leaders, administrators, and district staff to ensure responsive and effective HR support.
- Communicate clearly and proactively with administrators, teachers, staff, and other stakeholders regarding employment-related initiatives, changes, and district priorities.
- Oversee compensation and benefits programs to ensure market competitiveness, fiscal responsibility, and alignment with negotiated agreements and district goals.
- Ensure compliance with Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) requirements, applicable legislation, and Board of Education policies and regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with district expectations and all applicable laws.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient and effective operation of the district.
