Purpose Statement
The Speech Language Pathologist supports the instructional program with specific responsibilities for identifying students with communication disorders; planning and implementing appropriate individual educational plans to minimize adverse impact on student success; and recommending direct and indirect services.
Essential Functions
Minimum Job Requirements Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Knowledge of and ability to apply assessment instruments Ability to operate standard office equipment and software applications Ability to perform basic math including calculations using fractions, ratios and percents Ability to organize work, set priorities and meet deadlines Ability to read technical information, compose a variety of documents, and/or facilitate group discussions; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Knowledge of appropriate codes, policies, regulations and laws Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of speech and hearing mechanisms and disorders; principles and practices of speech and language therapy Ability to utilizing specialized equipment in communication disorders Ability to gather, collate, and/or classify data and to translate therapy data into meaningful educational activities Ability to communicate with tact and patience Ability to work with diverse groups and individuals Ability to solve problems and analyze issues and create action plans. Ability to establish and maintain constructive relationships Ability to adapt to changing work priorities and to remain flexible and creative Ability to work under limited supervision
Education, Certification Masters degree in job-related area Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services Speech - Language Pathology License
Experience Job related experience within a specialized field is required
Physical Demands, Working Environment This position generally requires the following physical demands: occasional lifting and carrying up to twenty (20) pounds, some pushing, and/or pulling, frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 60% sitting, 35% walking, and 5% standing. Attendance All employees are expected to maintain satisfactory attendance and report to work on time every day. Frequent unscheduled absences, including late arrivals and early departures, are grounds for discipline, up to and including discharge.

Benefits Information $50,000 Life Insurance Policy. For Health Insurance, if choose the District Health Insurance the District pays $380.00 per month towards the Health Insurance Premium for single coverage. $470.00 per month towards the Health Insurance Premium for single + spouse or child coverage. $570.00 per month towards the Health Insurance Premium for single + family coverage
