High School Counselor

Maize South High School is seeking a School Counselor for the 2025-26 school year.  Candidates should be licensed by KSDE as a School Counselor or be eligible for a waiver.  

Maize has a lot to offer educators new to the district and those new to the profession.  All new educators are matched with a qualified mentor and both the mentor and mentee are supported by our team of Student Support Specialists and Instructional Coaches.  New educators also participate in 8 half day professional development opportunities throughout the school year. 

Our educators are encouraged to continue to learn and grow.  We offer a professional learning series that qualifies for college credits.  Tuition reimbursement is also a great perk! 

Safe and well maintained facilities are another great feature found in the Maize district.  The intermediate, middle, and high schools all have school resource officers, and all schools have physical safety features built in.  The two intermediate schools are in their second year and were designed to allow amazing collaboration.  The district also recently opened an aquatics and performing arts center that houses our staff workout facility.
