The main goal of the program was to attract residents and businesses to rural areas. The program consists of two components: (1) a state income tax waiver and (2) student loanrepayment assistance, both of which are available for up to five years. Opening for a Junior High/High School Science Teacher, Grades 6-12, for the 2024-2025 school year. Additional coaching or sponsorship stipends are available. Immediate Supervisor: Building Principal Qualifications: The classroom teacher will meet qualifications and behavior standards as set by the Kansas Department of Education. In accordance with certification requirements and the performance expectations of USD #242, all classroom teachers shall meet the following employment criteria: A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. A valid Kansas Teacher’s Certificate with appropriate endorsement. Prefer a strong background in Biology. Professional verification of successful classroom teacher performance and/or student teaching experience. Salary Information The starting salary for a first-year teacher is $37,800, per the Negotiated Agreement.
