Salary Information Starting Base Salary of $37,800 Employer Information Weskan USD 242 is a small western Kansas rural school and is strongly supported by a tight-knit, agricultural based community. The school operates on a four-day week, attending classes Monday through Thursday. We offer small class sizes and a dedicated, caring staff that is committed to excellence. Class sizes range from 4-18 students. Weskan is a great place to raise a family. Weskan`s location provides easy access to the front range amenities, with Colorado Springs and Denver within a few hours drive. The school district offers a competitive salary schedule and benefits package. Weskan`s mission is: all students will be given the instruction and leadership needed to develop the basic knowledge and sufficient skills for problem solving, cooperation, life-long responsibility, self worth, and oral/written communication. Weskan students receive a quality, fundamentals-based education and consistently score high on state assessment tests and the ACT. We offer band, choir, art, Spanish, journalism, and all core academic areas. Our students have the opportunity to complete the Kansas Regents Scholars curriculum and to take concurrent-enrollment courses for college credit. We offer volleyball, basketball, track, football, cheerleading, scholar`s bowl, drama, pep band, FFA, and National Honor Society. Weskan is state accredited, has a K-12 enrollment of around 100 students, and consistently has a near-perfect graduation rate. 4th-12th grades utilize Chromebooks in each classroom, and K-5th have access to iPads. In 2022-23, we received the following Kansas Can Awards: Gold with Honors- Comissioner`s Award, Bronze - Post-secondary Success, Gold- Graduation Rate, Copper- Academically Prepared.
