Job Summary:

The Flint Hills League is a coalition of schools dedicated to promoting fair play, sportsmanship, and excellence in athletics. As Commissioner, you will oversee the assignment and management of officials for high school and junior high league schools, ensuring that all games and activities have qualified officials assigned. As Commissioner, you will oversee the assignment and management of officials for football, volleyball, basketball, baseball, and softball.

Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with league rules and regulations, as well as state and national guidelines

Attend regular meetings with league members to discuss league business and address concerns

Coordinate with other leagues' commissioners, Kansas State High School Activities Association, and officials to guarantee access to high-quality officials and ensure adherence to state guidelines

Represent the league at regional and state meetings for league commissioners and officials

Requirements:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and make sound decisions

Organizational skills and attention to detail

Familiarity with high school and junior high school sports regulations and guidelines

Ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and personalities

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle conflicts in a fair and impartial manner

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in officiating or coaching at the high school or collegiate level

Knowledge of game rules and regulations for specific sports (e.g., football, basketball, volleyball)

Experience with scheduling software (Arbiter)

Certification in sports officiating or coaching
