Elementary School Counselor OR School Social Worker & District MHIT Coordinator
Royal Valley School District 2025-26 school year. 

 

The Royal Valley School District is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and motivated professional to fill a unique dual-role position as a Part-Time Elementary School Counselor and District Mental Health Intervention Team (MHIT) Coordinator.

 

In this rewarding position, you will support the social, emotional, and academic development of our elementary students through individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and collaboration with teachers and families. Additionally, you will serve as the MHIT Coordinator for the district, working closely with school staff, community partners, and mental health professionals to lead and support mental health initiatives, coordinate services, and ensure timely interventions for students in need.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Provide counseling and guidance services to elementary students.

Develop and implement social-emotional learning programs.

Coordinate district-wide MHIT efforts, including referrals, data tracking, and team collaboration.

Work closely with administration and outside agencies to connect students and families to appropriate mental health resources.

Qualifications:

Masters degree in School Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.

Counselor- Valid Kansas school counselor license or eligibility for licensure.

Experience in school-based mental health services preferred.

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Compensation:
This position is paid according to the district teacher salary schedule, with additional compensation for extra days worked over the summer to coordinate therapy services and ensure continued mental health support for students during the break.

 

 

Competitive Salary:
