Agriculture Teacher and FFA Sponsor

Goessel, USD 411 is seeking a full-time Agriculture Teacher to lead our strong and supportive agriculture program. Nearly half of our students are enrolled in an agriculture class and the majority actively participate in FFA activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality agricultural education, fostering student engagement, and promoting a positive learning environment. We have a modern facility with many benefits including welding stations, plasma cam, paint booth, bridge crane, greenhouse, and classroom lab space and technology.

Requirements and Qualifications:

1. Bachelor`s degree in Agriculture Education or related field
2. Kansas State Teaching Certification in Agriculture Education (or eligibility for certification through alternative licensure programs)
3. Knowledge and skill in agricultural sciences 
4. Familiarity with FFA programs and activities
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to collaborate with colleagues, administration, and community stakeholders
7. Commitment to fostering student growth and success
8. Valid driver`s license and ability to accompany students to FFA events and competitions

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and deliver comprehensive agricultural curriculum to students
2. Create engaging lesson plans and hands-on activities that align with state standards
3. Provide instruction in various areas of agriculture, including animal science, plant science, agricultural mechanics
4. Promote student participation in FFA activities
5. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student growth and development
6. Assess and evaluate student performance, provide timely feedback, and maintain accurate records of student progress
7. Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and coordinate program activities
8. Engage with parents, administration, and community members to promote the agriculture program and maintain strong community support
9. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on advancements in agricultural education
