Reports to: Athletic Director

Qualifications:

1.      Bachelor’s Degree

2.      Previous Coaching Experience at High School or College Level

Job Description

1.      Promote the health and safety of all student-athletes at all times. Create a safe environment.

2.      Coach toward the KCC philosophy of Character, Faith, Knowledge

3.      Be a model of Christ and display good sportsmanship, character and behavior.

4.      Respect and dignify each student-athlete as an individual.

5.      Oversee all aspects of the Boys and Girls Track and Field Program

6.      Work with middle school coaches to create unity between high school and middle school philosophy

7.      Establish time demands that acknowledge the primary importance of each student-athlete's academic and family responsibilities. Communicate these demands in a timely manner.

8.       Promote among athletes and coaches a solid sense of team membership.

9.       Maintain an awareness of current topics in the sport.

10.    Assist, whenever appropriate and mutually convenient, with the post high school planning for individual student-athletes as it relates to athletics.

11.    Be available to parents at times that are mutually convenient and in alignment with the athletic department parent/coach communication guidelines.

12.   Work with school personnel, when appropriate, to advocate for the best interest of the student-athletes.

13.   Inventories and maintains all track and field equipment

14.   Encourage students toward multi-sport participation

15.   Work with ineligible students and help them succeed in becoming eligible
