Establish an orderly and engaging classroom focused on Music education.

Support the mission of Manhattan Catholic Schools in words and actions.

Teach the K-4 Elementary Music Curriculum following established Music standards.

Teach recorders and/or ukulele to the 4th Grade.

Teach instrumental music to all 5th-8th Grade students.

Teach music-related elective nine-week courses for 6-8.

Works with the building principal in selecting music materials for enrichment, recreational use, curricular support, and music appreciation.

Works with the building principal on curriculum and equipment for the music education program.

Maintain the music classroom inventory, including the school-owned instruments, including upkeep and maintenance of those instruments. Maintain updated gradebooks in PowerSchooI for all students.

Provide reports to parents on student progress.

Participate in Parent-Teacher Conferences.

Coordinates, in cooperation with teachers, the annual MCS Talent Show.

Provides leadership in the planning and execution of individual school concerts and other music performances.

Participates in local and diocesan in-service workshops with the MCS staff. Other duties that may be assigned.

Starting Salary: 37,90046,000 USD per year, Plus benefits

Class Size: Ranges from 12 to 25 in 1st-6th, 7th-8th are combined at 35 for Band

Classes: K-5 meets 5 times in two weeks, 6-8 meet daily
