Special Education Instructor (Virtual)

As a Special Education Instructor at ROCS, you will create a positive and inclusive virtual learning environment, facilitating the personal, social, and intellectual development of students with special needs. You'll collaborate with our virtual teaching staff and families to deliver tailored education plans that support each students unique needs and goals.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university.

Valid Kansas State Teaching Certificate (Special Education).

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively connect with students, families, and colleagues in a virtual setting.

Health and Inoculation Certificate on file (if applicable).

 

Key Responsibilities:

Facilitate student's social, personal, and intellectual development through individualized instruction in a virtual learning environment.

Develop, implement, and manage IEPs, ensuring compliance with Kansas Special Education Regulations within an online platform.

Collaborate with virtual teachers, parents, and support staff (including occupational, physical, and speech therapists) to meet students needs remotely.

Maintain accurate student records, data, and special education reports using digital tools.

Provide consistent communication and support to students and families in navigating the virtual learning environment.

Communicate comprehensive virtual student evaluation results.

Manage and maintain a structured, yet flexible virtual learning environment.

Plan and implement virtual transitional programs for students moving between grades or educational settings.

Stay up to date on digital tools and strategies for teaching in a virtual special education environment.

 

Virtual Learning Environment Requirements:

Ability to work from a home office or other appropriate virtual setting.

Proficiency with online learning platforms and digital communication tools (training provided).

Must maintain a reliable high-speed internet connection.
