Purpose: Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area(s) to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Education/Certification(s)/License(s): - Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university
- Valid Kansas teaching license and endorsements as required for the position.
- Health and Inoculation Certificate on file in the Central Office

Experience: - Teaching, student teaching, or related work experience
Essential Functions: Duties/Responsibilities: - Maintain accurate records and ensure the program complies with school policies, district and state regulations, and legal requirements.
- Serve as the lead certified staff member for the program. Provide guidance and support to program staff.
- Provide peer coaching, observation feedback, and co-teaching opportunities.
- Assist with scheduling, test coordination, or student placement decisions as necessary.
- Act as a liaison between administration and teachers. Model professionalism and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate curriculum aligned with state and district standards.
- Assist with onboarding new staff.
- Plan and conduct professional development for faculty on best practices and new initiatives.
- Establish a positive, respectful learning environment with clear expectations and routines.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to improve student outcomes.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the district's curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for individual student needs.
- Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned and present subject matter according to standards established by the Kansas State Board of Education, board policies, and administrative regulations.
- Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.
- Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for students with special needs, according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP). Participate in IEP meetings.
- Work with other members of the staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and instructional methods according to district requirements.
- Participate in selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials through processes outlined by the principal and/or central office administrator.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal testing. Assist in the early recognition of learning difficulties. Provide interventions for students as necessary.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Establish and maintain a professional relationship and open communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community members. Demonstrate respect for individual differences.
- Collaborate with community agencies, case managers, social workers, etc to support students.
- Manage student behavior in accordance with the student handbook and board policy.
- Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required.

- Requires the ability to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
- Requires the ability to work and concentrate in noisy and crowded environments.
- Requires the ability to work with frequent interruptions.
- Requires the ability to occasionally work outside with exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures.
- Requires timeliness and regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job.

- Uphold and enforce board policy, administrative procedures, and school rules/regulations including but not limited to: acceptable use of technology, sexual and racial harassment, child abuse reporting, health and safety including all precautions related to bloodborne pathogens, and suicide prevention.
- Maintain a substitute folder containing appropriate information as required by the principal.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Be prepared to implement the building/district Emergency Operations Plan and actively participate in response drills.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and well organized environment.
- Monitor hallways and common areas as necessary.
- Adhere to all district health and safety policies.
- Observe district policies at all times.
- Respond to change in a productive manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
