Girard High School is a 9-12 building with approximately 300 students and 26 classroom teachers. GHS has a very accomplished history of academic excellence, high student behavior expectations, and an outstanding teaching/support staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide instructional leadership focused on student learning, curriculum alignment, and effective teaching practices. Develop and maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive school culture for students and staff. Supervise, evaluate, and support all building personnel. Collaborate with district leadership to implement board policies, curriculum initiatives, and strategic goals. Lead professional development efforts and encourage continuous staff growth. Manage the building budget, resources, and scheduling effectively. Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, including those related to student attendance, assessment, and special services. Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and the community to build trust and engagement. Oversee student discipline, attendance, and behavioral support systems. Serve as a visible and active presence at school and community events. Qualifications Valid Kansas building-level administrator license (or eligibility for such). Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or related field required. Prior administrative experience preferred but not required. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Commitment to continuous improvement, collaboration, and student-centered decision making.
