District Technology Coordinator (possible Tech Ed options): Immediate Opening

USD 314 Brewster is looking for a District Technology Coordinator starting immediately.  This is an hourly position with an opportunity to be salary with teaching experience.  The position includes managing all hardware and software programs in the district, managing internet and infrastructure, repairing or providing support for district technology devices and submitting eRate forms and applications. Brewster uses PowerSchool and Final Forms for their SIS. Training would be provided for any of the technology infrastructure offered.

We are adding programs over the next several years to our student offerings. Brewster Tech will begin this Fall with the addition of some career and tech ed classes and virtual offerings. Some classes include 3D printing and CNC machines, Data Analytics, and Construction trades.  We are a 1:1 device district for all students and staff.  Therefore, operable internet capacity needs to be managed daily. Brewster uses a monitoring system to safely manage all district devices.

We are a 4-day school week with small class sizes and great families!  Our building is PreK-12 so families enjoy having all their kids under the same roof.  There is also a daycare located on site.  Coaching and sponsoring opportunities are available as well.

Located between Colby and Goodland off I-70, Brewster is only 3+ hours from Denver or Colorado Springs. So you get the small town, friendly, family atmosphere with close proximity to the big city activities. And with Fridays off, who wouldn’t want to be a Brewster Bulldog!

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma; an associates degree or higher is preferred.


Frequent sitting, standing and/or walking required. Occasional lifting, stooping, and bending for equipment and supplies and to aid others. 
 

Benefits Information

Health Insurance single policy paid by the district if minimum hours are met. 

Health Insurance: Employee has to be working at least 30 hours/week to qualify; deductible options 

Dental Insurance: Employee has to be working at least 30 hours/week to qualify (employee paid at a discount) 

Life Insurance: Employees has to be working at least 20 hours/week to qualify 

Supplemental Benefits: There would be some benefits offered to them at their cost through American Fidelity.

Salary Information

Based on experience with a starting pay of $16/hr. May vary depending on role with Tech Education. Other opportunities available for supplemental pay. Contact the district for more information.

Brewster is a small, rural community halfway between Colby and Goodland in Northwest Kansas.  Brewster is known to be a great place for families and raising children.  Brewster is located a mile north of I-70 which links up to eastern Kansas or Colorado.  Brewster has a grocery store, post office, fueling station, and bank in town for convenience.   Brewster is approximately three hours from Denver and Colorado Springs to the west.  

Brewster School is a K-12 system in one building and operates on a four-day week schedule, Monday through Thursday.  Brewster receives support services from the Northwest Kansas Educational Service Center in Oakley.  Brewster is a 1A school for classification purposes.  Teachers are contracted for 155 school days and the teacher work days run from 7:45 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.  The school day runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and there are 147 student contact days.  

Brewster has a strong tradition of excellence both inside and outside of the classroom.  The staff is dedicated and experienced with a mix of new and seasoned teachers.  Brewster School attracts a variety of staff and students from outside the district boundaries.   Academically, the school offers all required state core courses with Foreign Language (online), Art, Personal Finance and the complete offerings for Kansas Regents Qualifications and Scholars. Brewster has online college dual credit course options for juniors and seniors.  Several juniors and seniors spend their mornings in person at the technical college in Goodland in the CTE program for high school students.  Brewster School has a 1:1 technology device ratio.  

Brewster high school students have a variety of activities available to them including Student Government, National Honor Society, Cross Country, Volleyball, Football, Forensics, Basketball, and Track & Field.
