Vice President of Student Affairs

The Vice President of Student Affairs is responsible for all Student Affairs functions and enrollment management. The Vice President also serves as a liaison for student affairs personnel to the President.  The Vice President supervises the activities of Admissions, Financial Aid, Advising, Military Services, Student Life, Registrar, Athletics and TRIO Programs Talent Search, and Student Support Services. The position also carries the title of Title IX Coordinator and oversees student discipline and the Clery Act.

 

Required qualifications include: Knowledge of all areas of Student Affairs, Enrollment Management, and Title IX; Understanding of the community college philosophy, preferably in a rural setting; Good human relations skills; Effective communication skills, both oral and written; Working knowledge of transferability, college transcripts, and financial record keeping; Working knowledge of financial aid regulations and financial record keeping; Record of creativity, resourcefulness, teamwork and leadership, especially in student advocacy; Ability to use calculator, word processing and understanding computer operations and Web-based applications.

Preferred qualifications include: 3 years experience at the college level in several of the Student Affairs areas being supervised, i.e. advising, admissions, financial aid, registrar, and student life. 3 years of administrative experience.

 

Education qualifications include: Master's degree with coursework in counseling, student personnel areas, or higher education or related field is required.

 

Flexible work with main working hours Monday to Thursday. Excellent benefits such as vacation, sick leave, paid LCC tuition for employee and dependents, Kansas Public Employment Retirement System (KPERS), KPERS 457, 403B with matching plan, and the State Plan of Kansas insurances that includes medical, dental, and vision for employee and family. Supplemental insurance is also offered. Salary is based on education and experience with a range of $82,000 to $85,0000 annually. This is a full-time, exempt position.
