USD 286 is looking for qualified candidates to fill a FACS teaching position for the 2025-26 school year.  We are looking for a teacher that would like the smaller class sizes and that allows you to develop a meaningful relationship with students, families, staff and the community.  We have a 1 to 1 Chromebook for all students.

USD 286 in Sedan is located in Southeast Kansas at the junctions of US Highway 166 and 99.  Sedan is a picturesque community located equidistant from Tulsa, OK, Wichita, KS and Joplin, MO, in the heart of the Chautauqua Hills.  Sedan is the Chautauqua County seat and has a community hospital, golf course, swimming pool and numerous restaurants.  Sedan is a great place to work and raise a family.

Oil and cattle production are still the county`s main resources.  Other industries include the production and distribution of bedding plants at Sedan Floral, truck beds and trailers at Economy Manufacturing, and the Kansas Klipper.  Efforts to promote tourism in the county include such events as the Chautauqua Hills Blues Festival, Annual Redbud Tour, and the Yellow Brick Road Festival.
