Sedan Elementary School is seeking a dedicated, student-centered Teacher to join our highly qualified 5th/6th instructional team for the upcoming school year. 

Sedan Elementary serves students in PreK-6, and this position will be part of a four-teacher team implementing a CORE instructional model. In this model, each teacher specializes in one core content area and teaches that subject to both 5th and 6th grade students as they rotate through daily schedules.

Based on the negotiated agreement 26-27: $48,397 Base Pay

USD 286 in Sedan is located in Southeast Kansas at the junctions of US Highway 166 and 99.  Sedan is a picturesque community located equidistant from Tulsa, OK, Wichita, KS and Joplin, MO, in the heart of the Chautauqua Hills.  Sedan is the Chautauqua County seat and has a community hospital, golf course, swimming pool and numerous restaurants.  Sedan is a great place to work and raise a family.

Oil and cattle production are still the county`s main resources.  Other industries include the production and distribution of bedding plants at Sedan Floral and the Kansas Klipper.  Efforts to promote tourism in the county include such events as the Christmas in the Hollow, Annual Redbud Tour, and the Chautauqua County Fair.
