Demonstrates professionalism: Regular and consistent attendance to complete all job duties Models professional attitude and image with all stakeholders Is reliable, dependable, punctual, accurate and timely in all job duties Understands and supports the vision of the School District Supports assigned administrator(s) and department staff for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. 3. Plans a program of study that follows district curriculum and policy guidelines, and, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests and abilities of students. 4. Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. 5. Guides the learning process toward the mastery of curriculum goals, and establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects that are clearly communicated to students. 6. Employs instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting the district's published objectives. 7. Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required by policy and as requested by the administration. 8. Assists in the referral and diagnoses of students with learning difficulties, seeking assistance from district specialists as required. 9. Counsels with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis, and as requested by the administration. 10. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and/or rules governing students' life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure; maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner. 11. Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for teacher aide(s) and/or volunteer(s) and evaluates their job performance. 12. Maintains and strives to improve professional performance and competence. 13. Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required. 14. Prepares weekly lesson plans and objectives to submit to the building principal. 15. Inventories content of classroom annually and properly stores all supplies and equipment. 16. Establishes professional improvement goals annually and makes every effort to reach stated goals. 17. Supervises students as required. 18. Completes all required reports, inventories, text and curriculum evaluations, materials orders and other paperwork. 19. Encourages proper use and care for all school equipment and facilities. 20. Attends and records all professional learning opportunities to keep certification current. 21. Follows the policies set forth in the negotiated agreement. 22. Other duties as assigned by the administration which may be relevant to the assignment. Peabody-Burns Elementary School is a PreK-5 facility located at 506 Elm in Peabody and Peabody-Burns Jr/Sr High School is a 6-12 facility located at 810 North Sycamore in Peabody, Kansas.
