Our 7th-8th grade science teacher is retiring and our 9-12 science teacher is willing to teach either the 7th-8th or continue the 9-12 science.  If you are licensed in one but not the other or you prefer one over the other,  our current 9-12 teacher is willing to teach either level.  

9-12 Science is 1 class of physics, 1 class of A&P, 2 Biology, 1 Adv Biology and 1 class of Chemistry.

7-8 Science is 2 classes of 7th grade science, 2 classes of 8th science, 1 study skill class.

 

Coaching is available: possible, volleyball, cheerleading, track, wrestling.

Job will be open until filled.

Benefits Information

USD 281 pays for a full single health plan and (currently-this could change to 70% in negations) pays for 80% of a family plan. 

USD 281 has a matching 403b contribution.  The school matches up to $85 a month.

12 days of sick leave that can accumulate up to 90 days.  Any accumulated days over 90 are purchased by the district at a rate of $65 a day.

Salary Information

The base pay starts at $42,500.  USD 281 recognizes all experience and will place you on the salary scale accordingly.

Graham County USD #281 in Hill City, Kansas is located in northwest Kansas at the junction of US Hwy 283 and US Hwy 24. The district has two attendance centers; Hill City Junior Senior High housing students in grades 7-12 and Hill City Grade housing students PK-6. The enrollment of the district is approximately 380 students. Student to teacher ratio is low, averaging 12-16 students in a classroom. Hill City Junior-Senior High has many active clubs and organizations as well as programs in band, choir, art and FFA. HCJSHS students compete in most activities sponsored by the KSHSAA.. The district underwent a facelift in 2015 with the addition of a new state-of-the-art 8 lane track including new concessions and restroom building, immaculate renovation of the auditorium, new HVAC systems at both facilities, Parking lots and renovation of the Grade School playground along with other upgrades. USD 281 recently launched a technology improvement program and has added interactive boards to all elementary and many Jr-Sr high classrooms. Students in the district all have an individual laptop assigned to them, making us 1-1 district wide. In 2020 the district was recognized by the Kansas State Department of Education with three awards of distinction including the Commissioner`s Award.
