5th Grade Teacher

Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated 5th Grade Teacher to join our exceptional team at Waverly Grade School. This individual will inspire and challenge students to reach their full potential while contributing to a positive and collaborative school culture. The 5th Grade Teacher will design and implement engaging lessons that build foundational skills and foster a love of learning, preparing students for success in middle school and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Excellence: Develop and deliver high-quality, standards-based lessons in core subjects such as Math, Science, English Language Arts, and Social Studies.

Student Engagement: Foster a classroom environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and active participation.

Assessment and Growth: Regularly assess student progress using formative and summative methods, providing timely feedback and intervention to support academic achievement.

Classroom Management: Maintain a positive, respectful, and structured classroom environment that supports learning and social-emotional development.

Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues, parents, and administration to ensure alignment with school and district goals.

Professional Development: Engage in ongoing learning opportunities, including professional development provided by the district, to stay current with educational best practices.

Community Engagement: Participate in school and community events to build strong relationships with families and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Education or related field.

Valid Kansas teaching license with an endorsement in elementary education or a related field.

Strong knowledge of Kansas Academic Standards and an understanding of best practices in elementary instruction.

Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
