Location: Waverly Grade School, USD 243 Lebo-Waverly Job Type: Full-Time, 10-Month Contract Job Overview: USD 243 Lebo-Waverly is seeking a dedicated and visionary leader to serve as the Principal of Waverly Grade School. This individual will be responsible for fostering a positive school culture, ensuring high academic standards, and supporting students, staff, and families in a collaborative environment. The principal will lead instructional efforts, oversee daily operations, and work closely with district administration to advance the mission and vision of USD #243. Key Responsibilities: - Provide strong instructional leadership to improve student achievement and support professional development for staff.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe school environment that supports student learning and social-emotional well-being.
- Supervise and evaluate teachers and staff, ensuring high-quality instruction and professional growth.
- Implement district policies, state and federal regulations, and school improvement initiatives.
- Manage school operations, including budgeting, scheduling, student discipline, and parent/community engagement.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and community stakeholders to build strong partnerships that support student success.
- Oversee curriculum implementation and ensure alignment with district and state standards.
- Lead school safety initiatives and crisis response planning.
- Maintain open and effective communication with staff, students, parents, and district administration.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making.
Qualifications & Requirements: - Required: Masters degree in Educational Administration.
- Required: Valid Kansas Building Leadership License (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Minimum of three years of teaching experience (administrative experience preferred).
- Demonstrated leadership ability with a strong focus on student achievement and staff development.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with curriculum development, instructional best practices, and school improvement planning.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, parents, and community members.
- Knowledge of Kansas educational policies, laws, and accreditation requirements.
