Job Overview:

The USD 243 Lebo-Waverly Board of Education is seeking a visionary and dedicated Superintendent to lead our district in providing high-quality education and student success. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, an experienced educational leader, and a strategic thinker committed to fostering a culture of academic excellence, fiscal responsibility, and community engagement.

USD 243 serves approximately 500 students across multiple campuses, offering comprehensive PreK-12 education, early childhood programs, and a range of extracurricular activities. The district prioritizes student-centered decision-making, staff collaboration, and community involvement to ensure the best outcomes for all learners.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide strong leadership in the areas of curriculum, instruction, finance, operations, and personnel management.

Implement and oversee the districts strategic plan, ensuring alignment with state standards and community expectations.

Work closely with the Board of Education, providing timely updates, sound recommendations, and data-driven insights.

Foster a positive school culture that prioritizes student achievement, staff development, and community partnerships.

Oversee the districts financial management, including budget planning, state funding compliance, and fiscal responsibility.

Lead the hiring, evaluation, and professional development of district staff, ensuring a high-performing and collaborative team.

Advocate for the district at the local, state, and federal levels, staying informed on education policy and legislative changes.

Ensure compliance with state and federal education laws and regulations.

Engage with parents, community members, and stakeholders to strengthen public trust and transparency.

Promote innovative programs, including early childhood education, special education services, and career pathways for students.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Required: Masters degree in Educational Leadership or a related field.

Required: Valid Kansas District Leadership (Superintendent) License or eligibility to obtain one.

Minimum of five years of administrative experience, preferably as a superintendent, assistant superintendent, or building principal.

Strong background in finance, budgeting, and school operations.

Proven leadership in curriculum development, instructional improvement, and student achievement initiatives.

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Commitment to collaborative leadership and community engagement.

Experience with school facility planning, capital improvement projects, and district growth initiatives (preferred).
