Reading Specialist, Interventionist, and Library

Waverly Grade School is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Reading & Math Specialist to support student learning through targeted interventions and instructional coaching. This position will play a critical role in Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), focusing on data-driven decision-making to enhance student achievement in literacy and math. Additionally, the role includes data analysis for student grouping using FastBridge and other assessment tools, some instructional coaching responsibilities, and providing library time for students.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement reading and math interventions aligned with MTSS to support student growth.

Work closely with the Title I teacher to coordinate and provide effective interventions.

Use FastBridge and other assessment tools to analyze student data and create targeted intervention groups.

Provide small group and individual instruction to support struggling learners.

Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop effective literacy and math strategies.

Serve as an instructional coach, providing guidance and support to educators in best teaching practices.

Assist in data collection and analysis, helping to inform instructional decisions at the building level.

Support and manage library activities, fostering a love for reading and learning.

Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and contribute to school-wide literacy and math initiatives.

Qualifications:

Valid Kansas Teaching License (Reading or Math Specialist Endorsement preferred).

Experience in MTSS interventions and data-driven instruction.

Knowledge of FastBridge, instructional coaching, and data analysis for student growth.

Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Prior experience in elementary literacy and math instruction is highly desirable.
