This position will involve instructing students in grades 6 through 12 in the Life Sciences. The ideal candidate will foster a rich learning environment where young minds are encouraged to explore and grow. Responsibilities: Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences in Biology and related life sciences. Develop schemes of work and lesson plans aligned with curriculum objectives. Instruct and supervise students in the use of scientific methods and research. Provide a safe and stimulating environment that facilitates learning. Assess and record students progress and provide grades and feedback. Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school. Participate in extracurricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs, and student organizations. Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs. Qualifications: A Bachelors Degree in Biology, Life Sciences, or a related field. Valid teaching certification for the state of Kansas with an endorsement in Biology and General Science Strong understanding of the teaching curriculum and pedagogy of Biology. Previous experience in teaching Biology or Life Sciences is preferred. Ability to build rapport with students. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Good organizational and time-management skills. Commitment to the ethical standards and the core values of USD #243.
