ESSDACK is an educational service center seeking a Professional Learning Consultant with a strong background in curriculum review processes and research-based instructional practices who fosters the professional growth of others within and outside the organization. KEY TASKS - Organize, support, and oversee the curriculum adoption process for school districts.
- Lead school districts in the assessment of the effectiveness of current instructional materials and aligned practices.
- Review curricular resources from outside vendors based on the needs and objectives outlined by the school district developed through an inquiry process.
- Collaborate with school districts to align curriculum with state and local standards.
- Analyze district and school assessment data.
- Design and deliver a variety of professional development opportunities that model effective instructional practices as well as take into account the needs of adult learners. Which includes but is not limited to In-house and on-site face-to-face workshops. Ongoing professional learning communities. Virtually delivered instruction. On-site and virtual coaching and consulting.
- Lead schools/districts in the assessment of the effectiveness of current instructional resources and practices.
- Collaborate with school/district personnel to design and implement a curriculum, instruction, and assessment plan using a continuous improvement model.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND EXPECTATIONS - Collaborate with colleagues as needed to meet organizational and/or customer-driven goals.
- Contribute to the success of the organization by cooperatively interacting with other staff, meeting established deadlines and voluntarily offering talents and expertise for the good of the organization.
- Serve as a resource for schools/districts by remaining aware of current educational research, legislative matters, and other pertinent issues.
- Actively participate in, lead, and promote organizational initiatives.
- Develop effective collaborative working relationships with external agencies. (i.e. KSDE, professional organizations, universities, educational service, non-profits, etc.)
- Submit bills for services rendered in a timely manner.
- Maintain a current calendar depicting work-related activities on a shareable digital calendar.
- Comply with all organizational policies as outlined in the current employee policy handbook.
- Contributing individual actions to organizational or team WIG goals.
- Exhibit anabolic energy and leadership.
- Any and all other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS - Must hold a Kansas Teaching License. A Masters Degree in Curriculum, Instruction (or similar) or Building Administration License preferred.
- Experience in elementary, secondary, or administration is preferred.
- Previous experience in implementing and evaluating effective curriculum design, instructional strategies, curriculum adoption process and use of assessments.
- Demonstrated ability to implement best practices and the motivation to set and achieve high-performance levels.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and deliver effective professional development.
- Desire to continue career improvement by enhancing job skills and performance
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Regularly required to talk and hear.
- Frequently required to stand, walk and reach.
- Occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 40 pounds.
