Assists with the administration and education leadership at assigned school; enforces policies, procedures, and practices established by the Board of Education and supported by the administration under the supervision of the Principal. This person is responsible for the overall implementation of the athletic and activity programs at the Junior High/High School. QUALIFICATIONS: - Valid Kansas teaching license with appropriate building level endorsement/licensure

REPORTS TO AND EVALUATED BY: - Sedgwick Junior High/High School Principal
ESSENTIAL QUALITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Assist the principal in the overall administration of the school.
- Supervises all building-level curricular and extracurricular activities and operations in the absence of the Principal.
- Assists with fiscal, administrative and instructional decisions in the high school.
- Works independently with each teacher, and collectively with entire staff to further develop teaching capacities.
- Counsels with teachers, students, and parents; discipline, attendance, human and public relations.
- Assists with supervision/evaluation of staff including, but not limited to, certified instructional and classified personnel.
- Analyzes instructional practice data to engage staff in the assessment and improvement of teacher practice.
- Applies data to assess and monitor system performance on a regular basis to ensure viable support and resources for staff and students.
- Assists with compiling annual budget data and regularly reviews activity accounts or any other fund accounts.
- Assists with scheduling class or extracurricular activities on the monthly and yearly calendar.
- Assists with making coaching assignments and evaluates all head coaches and assistant coaches as directed.
- Communicates school policy and practices to parents, students, and public; assists with implementing continuous program of public relations and information concerning programs, services, and activities.
- Enforces USD 439 policies/regulations as directed by the Principal.
- Attends/supervises local and away (or designates staff) school event(s).
- Serves as coordinator of student activities.
- Administers plans, organizes, schedules and manages all athletic programs for assigned school; organizes appropriate materials and provides learning environment for athletics.
- Works with and motivates all coaches to develop an effective athletic program.
- Follows and insures that KSHSAA rules and regulations are enforced; develops local policies/regulations consistent with need and pertinent to athletic department.
- Assists in scheduling facilities usage by school and community organizations.
- Provides for multi-faceted evaluation of student performance and behavior; makes regular reports; confers with students, staff and parents.
- Participates in personal professional growth activities and district in-service activities.
- Manages all job duties with mobility, agility, dexterity and focused observation to meet job standards of performance; ability to drive vehicle.
- Regular attendance is required.

Benefits Information
USD 439 will pay $500 towards a single health insurance plan.
Salary Information
This position is a 12-month contract with a salary that will be commensurate with experience.
Employer Information
Sedgwick Public Schools, USD 439, is a pre-kindergarten through the twelfth-grade state-accredited school system. The student population is 525 annually. The school is housed on one campus with two interconnected buildings that include an elementary and a high school. USD 439 is in the middle of construction that will connect the two buildings through the addition of a new media center, a new gymnasium, and multiple classroom and office spaces. The junior high and high school are members of the Heart of America League which supports and promotes academic and athletic programs for the ten-member school districts. Sedgwick is located in the southern part of Harvey County, just 15 minutes north of Wichita. We are within a short drive of multiple attractions in the Wichita area.
