7-12 Agricultural Education teacher & FFA Advisor

USD 422 Kiowa County is seeking a gr. 7-12 Agricultural Education teacher and an FFA Advisor. 

The current pathways are:  Agricultural Power, Structural & Technical Systems and Comprehensive Ag Science.  Classes currently taught are: Junior High Exploratory Agriculture, Agriscience, Animal Science, Welding, Food Science, and Ag Leadership & Communication.  

Facilities include a welding shop with Lincoln 210 multi-process machines, a commercial kitchen space used as a food science lab, and a classroom space in the main building.

CASE and other curriculum trainings are encouraged before and after hire date.

Essential Job Functions:

1.     Develop industry-aligned curriculum with input from advisory committee members and community stakeholders.

2.     Serve as the FFA Chapter Advisor

3.     Demonstrate the ability to self-start.

4.     Possess the willingness to learn new things.

5.     Demonstrate the ability to assess student needs and respond with appropriate action.

6.     Demonstrate the confidence to lead and the humility necessary to follow a directive.

7.     Demonstrate the ability to work with fellow educators to develop, implement and evaluate instructional strategies and materials to improve teaching and learning for all students of multiple grades.

8.     Demonstrate flexibility in regards to schedule, program demands, and student needs.

9.     Understand the importance of building positive school/community relations.

10.    Model positive professional attributes.

11.    Be willing to adapt to and use trauma-informed discipline and actions in schools.
