Director of Special ProgramsWellington USD 353 • www.usd353.com Job Summary/Description: Under the Direction of the Superintendent, the Director of Special Programs is responsible for implementing and maintaining special programs and services in conformance to district, state, and federal objectives and laws; planning, designing, and implementing all phases of service provided by the Special Education staff; serving as a resource to patrons, school personnel, and the Board; and maintaining adequate staffing to ensure objectives of programs and services are achieved within budget.
Required Qualifications: Knowledge of special education practices and procedures. Requires the ability to use standard office equipment including computer and peripherals and other instructional equipment. Ability to work effectively with district personnel, administrators, school staff, students, parents and the general public. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to learn enrollment, transfer, program record keeping systems and reporting requirements.
