Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Family and Consumer Science Teacher to join our high school faculty on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in FCS subjects, including nutrition, cooking, budgeting, family dynamics, and consumer education. This teacher will be responsible for creating engaging and relevant lesson plans, delivering instruction, and assessing student performance.

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a curriculum that meets state standards and school guidelines.

Teach various FCS courses such as nutrition, culinary arts, family relationships, child development, and financial literacy.

Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.

Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.

Maintain open communication with students, parents, and colleagues.

Participate in professional development opportunities and school events.

Collaborate with other faculty members to enhance the overall educational experience for students.

Serve as the local FCCLA Advisor for the student chapter.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Family and Consumer Science, Education, or a related field.

Valid state teaching certification in Family and Consumer Science or equivalent.

Previous teaching experience at the high school level preferred.

Strong understanding of the Family and Consumer Science curriculum and best teaching practices.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to motivate and inspire students.
