Position Summary Blue Valley USD #384 is seeking a dedicated and student-centered leader to serve as our 6–12 Principal. A principal who will be part of a collaborative district administration team made up of the superintendent and PreK-5 principal. The successful candidate will be an instructional leader who:
The role offers the opportunity to lead a combined middle and high school where relationships matter, leadership is shared, and the principals plays an active role in the daily life of the school and district. Key Responsibilities: The 6-12 Principal provides leadership, supervision and direction for students, faculty, and staff in grades 6-12, with responsibilities including: Provide strong instructional leadership and oversee curriculum implementation to ensure student success. Develop a positive school culture that promotes high expectations for academic achievement and positive behavior. Supervising, evaluating and supporting staff through observations, feedback, and professional learning. Collaborate with teachers, families and community stakeholders, to build strong relationships and partnerships. Manage school operations, including scheduling, staffing. Resources and facilities. Use data to guide instructional improvements and student interventions. Promote equity, inclusion, and diversity within the school community. Address student discipline and consistently with an emphasis on restorative practices. Ensure compliance with state and federal education laws, regulations, and district policies. Support and oversee extracurricular programs and activities to enrich the student experience. Qualifications: Master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field. Valid Kansas Principal Certification (or ability to obtain). Proven leadership experience in a secondary education setting preferred. Strong knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment strategies. Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Commitment to collaborative leadership and relation-based school culture.
