Purpose:
The ECSE Teacher is an instructor of young children with special needs. This position is designed to support and assist coordination of instructional programs relating to special education students with Developmental Delays, Autism and/or low incidence disabilities. This position will work closely with parents, general and special education staff, community agencies, and the special education administration.

Responsible to: Special Education Director, Assistant Directors, Coordinators, and building Principals.

Salary: According to Negotiated Agreement Education/Qualifications:

Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university
Current applicable Kansas state licensure for Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE, ECU)
Early Childhood Licensure
Health and Inoculation Certificate on file in the Central Office.
Desire to continue career improvement
Demonstrate proficiency in the sue of Interlocal prescribed computer-based reporting systems.

Based on years of experience and education. Base salary is $43,375.

A full continuum of services is offered including: early childhood; learning disabled; intellectually delayed; other health impaired; autism; hearing impaired; speech/language pathology; emotionally disturbed; visually impaired and gifted.

The median salary for teachers in SEK Interlocal is $54,000+ and aligns with national average of teachers` salaries. The interlocal offers a monthly defined benefit for each employee which participates in the interlocal insurance plan. Insurance is provided through the Greenbush consortium and is underwritten by Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Employees and spouse employed by another Greenbush Consortium district are able to receive defined benefit toward the purchase of insurance from both the interlocal and the spouse`s employing district.

SEK Interlocal provides ten sick leave days per year and three personal days for professional staff. In addition, the interlocal provides a sick leave pool to employees after sick and personal days have been depleted. Unused sick and personal leave days are carried over into accumulated sick leave.
