8-12 FACS Teacher- Lyndon Schools USD 421

FAMILY & CONSUMER SCIENCES (FACS) TEACHER -  LYNDON USD 421 - 2026-27 School Year.  Qualified individuals should have or be eligible for a Kansas Teaching License with a secondary FACS (Gr 6-12 or 9-12) endorsement or have or be taking FACS college coursework/ appropriate Praxis test for endorsement and/or be eligible to enroll in a Transition to Teaching program to obtain a Kansas Teaching License.  (Supplemental Coaching and Sponsor positions may also be available.)  If qualified and interested in this position please fill out an online CERTIFIED APPLICATION from the Employment page of our website:  www.usd421.org.  Employment Resources or fill out application on Educate Kansas.  

• The Classroom Instructor creates a positive learning environment to facilitate the personal  social  and intellectual development of students.
• In order to respond to the individual needs and abilities of students the Classroom Instructor must work closely with other staff  the administration  and other programs of Lyndon Schools.
• Kansas certification required  or certification in a different state with qualifications that allow for licensure in Kansas. 
• Endorsement in Family & Consumer Science/ Home Economics Junior High Home Economics/ Home Economics Vocational State Approved Program/ Vocational Home Economics required or in the process.
• Demonstrated ability to work with fellow educators to develop  implement and evaluate instructional strategies and materials to improve teaching and learning for all students.
• Kansas Certification of Health on file in the USD 421 Central Office.
• Personal Qualities - Appearance  grooming and personality which establish a desirable example for students.
• Ability to meet district standards for physical and mental health.
• Better than average recommendations from professionals who have observed the personal characteristics  scholastic attainment  and classroom performance of the teacher.
• Demonstrated ability to assess needs and respond with appropriate action to achieve goals persistent problem solver.
• Flexibility with schedule  program demands and student needs.
• Demonstrated ability to self-start.
• Demonstrated ability to respond to needs creatively and independently.
• Evidence of confidence necessary to lead and humility necessary to follow directions.
• Demonstrated ability to take direction teachable.
• Willingness to learn.
• Evidence of readiness to go above and beyond assigned duties.
