Substitute Teacher with Orion Star Program in Wichita KS

Orion Education and Training is seeking dedicated and qualified individuals to serve as Substitute Teachers for high school students in a computer-assisted alternative education setting. Responsibilities: Supervise high school students in a classroom environment, maintaining a safe and productive learning atmosphere. Facilitate student work in a computer-assisted curriculum. Manage the classroom effectively, ensuring students remain on task and adhere to school and classroom policies. Address student needs and questions related to the curriculum, providing basic guidance and support in core content areas (e.g., math, science, English, social studies). Utilize problem-solving skills to address immediate classroom issues or student challenges that may arise. Follow all school procedures, policies, and ethical guidelines. Qualifications: Required: Valid Kansas Substitute Teaching License. Preferred: Valad Kansas Teaching License Demonstrated record of effective classroom management skills. Experience or comfort working with high school-age students. Basic knowledge of and ability to provide support in core content areas. Familiarity with or ability to quickly learn Google applications (e.g., Google Docs, Sheets, Gmail) to assist students or manage classroom tasks.
