Are you looking to work in a collaborative environment that is adult student centered and 
learner driven? ORION Education and Training has an opening for a full-time Teacher for on-
site adult learners at our Winfield Diploma Completion & Learning Center site. Applicants 
must have valid Kansas teaching license for secondary level, all endorsements considered.

Responsibilities: Create instructional support materials within a variety of communication platforms (LMS, social media, email, etc.).

Facilitate coursework for adult students in coordination with district requirements.
Maintain a safe and disciplined environment conducive to learning.
Monitor, evaluate, and communicate student progress.
Follow and enforce policies and regulations for both ORION and KSDE.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors Degree in Education, Kansas licensure, secondary required
Experience: Working with non-traditional learners
Technology Skills: G Suite applications, digital literacy, file management, LMS operation
Other Skills: Communication, organization, problem solving, creative and independent
thinking.


Job Description

Job Summary:
The Diploma Completion Program Teacher is responsible for teaching, instruction, grading and record keeping for all students attending the Diploma Completion site. The Diploma Completion Teacher will inspire students in person and virtually. This position will foster an engaging learning environment that encourages students to explore, think critically, and develop both academic and life skills. This position requires a commitment to excellence in teaching, collaboration with staff, and dedication to student success.

Key Responsibilities:
Plan, Prepare, and Deliver Lessons: Design and implement effective lesson plans that meet curriculum standards and cater to various learning styles.
Create a Positive Learning Environment: Establish a supportive classroom atmosphere where all students feel encouraged to participate, take risks, and ask questions.
Assess and Evaluate Student Progress: Administer assessments, quizzes, and exams, and provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
Differentiate Instruction: Adapt teaching strategies and resources to meet the diverse needs and
abilities of students, including those with learning disabilities or special needs.
Classroom Management: Maintain classroom discipline by establishing clear rules and expectations while promoting respect and positive behavior.
Collaborate with Colleagues: Work with other teachers, staff, and administrators to improve the overall learning environment and address any concerns related to student performance.
Communicate with Parents/Guardians: Provide regular updates on student progress, behavior, and areas for improvement through meetings, emails, and progress reports.
Professional Development: Stay current with educational trends, curriculum changes, and teaching techniques by attending workshops and pursuing continuing education.
Extracurricular Participation: Engage in school events, clubs, or extracurricular activities that contribute to the school community.

Qualifications:
Educational Background: Bachelors degree in Education. A Masters degree is a plus.
Teaching Certification: Valid Kansas teaching license. Secondary endorsement.
Experience: Three years of experience teaching in a classroom setting (preferred, but not required).
Skills:
o Proficiency with Google Suites
o Strong organizational and time-management skills
o Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
o Proficiency with educational technology and digital tools for teaching and assessment
o Ability to inspire and motivate students
o Flexibility and problem-solving skills to adapt to various challenges
