Orion Educational Training Center has an opening for a Certified Teacher who will coordinate the diploma completion program at the Shawnee County Jail. We are looking for someone who is passionate about giving others hope, professional in their demeanor, and personable to be comfortable talking to adult students and jail staff. Responsibilities:

• Act as primary liaison between Orion and the Shawnee County Jail staff
• Facilitate online coursework for students in coordination with district requirements.
• Maintain a safe and disciplined environment conducive to learning.
• Monitor, evaluate, and communicate student progress.
• Follow and enforce policies and regulations for both ORION and Shawnee County Jail.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors Degree in Education, Kansas licensure, secondary preferred
• Experience: Working with non-traditional learners preferred
• Other Skills: Communication, organization, self-regulation, problem solving, creative and independent thinking
• Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
