Reports to: Building Principal
Purpose: The Middle School Bookkeeper maintains the financial books and accounts of the middle school to ensue accurate accounting of receipts and disbursements.
Responsible to: Middle School Principal
Essential Functions: Ability to maintain the financial books and accounts of the school to ensure accurate accounting of receipts and disbursements. Ability to ensure financial activities conform to district guidelines. Ability to communicate and work effectively and cooperatively with members of the school district and community. Ability to issue all purchase orders and process invoices for payment. Ability to assist in handling all receipts and expenditures for building level activity accounts. Ability to work with the principal to develop and administer the budget for building operations. Ability to collect- account- and maintain records of student fees. Ability to count and receipt all gate receipts from the Athletic Department. Ability to issue checks for activity fund and athletic department accounts. Ability to prepare cash boxes for all athletic events and for other clubs as needed. Ability to reconcile bank statements. Ability to prepare and file sales tax documents. Ability to keep personnel and student information records confidential. Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned.

Employer Information Basehor-Linwood Unified School District 458 serves students and families in a 90 square mile area of southern Leavenworth County, Kansas. We currently have 8 district attendance centers. Our Early Learning Center for Childcare and Pre-K opened for the 2020-21 school year in August. K-5 buildings are located in Bonner Springs, Basehor and the Glenwood Ridge subdivision. A new K-5 building, located in Basehor, opened in the Fall 2021. Students in grades 6, 7 and 8 attend Basehor-Linwood Middle School in Basehor, near the center of the district. Basehor-Linwood High School, located in Basehor, is a 5A school, serving students in grades 9 through 12.
BLHS was named a 2012 National Blue Ribbon School. In addition, the district operates Basehor-Linwood Virtual School, an internet-based school serving approximately 250 K-12 students statewide instructed by Basehor-Linwood teachers.
Special Education services are provided by the Tonganoxie/Basehor-Linwood Special Education Cooperative located in Basehor. USD 458 is part of a vibrant, growing suburban area with expanding student population and tax base.
