Board ClerkSouthern Cloud USD 334 • www.sc334.org USD 334 Southern Cloud Schools is looking for a Board Clerk. Some of the qualifications are: knowledge of modern office procedures, typing ability and computer skills, general understanding of education and educational administration, ability and understanding to maintain records and reports of the board, and other responsibilities as the superintendent may designate.
To assist the Superintendent in supervising an efficient, legal and organized school system.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Makes preparations for school board meetings, posting required notices, records minutes of school board meetings, and handles all school board correspondence. 2. Handles accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll each month. 3. Maintains all personnel records for certified employees and classified employees. 4. Maintains employee absence records, processes payroll on a monthly basis, along with payroll liabilities. 5. Handles budget allocations, recording expenditures, maintaining and reconciling balances for each account and checks monthly budget summary. 6. Maintain Security Pledges for General Fund Account and Money Market Account with local banks. 7. Gathers data for various reports required by federal and state agencies. 8 Is aware of and supportive of guidelines in board policies and administrative regulations. 9. Is prompt and thorough in completing assignments, meeting deadlines and attending to details accurately and efficiently. 10. Processes Food Service Program Records: applications, monthly reports, deposits and audits. 11. Prepare documents for school, state and federal reports and audits. 12. Manage district funds and budget items, as well as, State Fiscal Stabilization Funds.
Benefits Information USD 334 offers a paid single BC/BS health plan or a partial contribution toward a family BC/BS health plan. KPERS retirement, paid leave, 6 days the first year, 8 days the second year, and 10 days the third year and 10 days there after each year accumulating up to 40 leave days. The Southern Cloud USD 334 is located in Southern Cloud County and provides instruction to approximately 125 students. The district includes the following schools: Miltonvale Elementary (Grades K-6), Glasco Elementary (Grades K-8), Glasco High School (Grades 9-12), and Miltonvale Junior-Senior High School (Grades 7-12). Southern Cloud serves the communities of Glasco and Miltonvale which is located on Hwy 24. Southern Cloud went to a 4 Day Week in 2023-2024. Southern Cloud schools are located about 45 minutes north of Salina where Kansas Wesleyan & Kansas State Technology College is located, about 25 minutes south from Concordia where Cloud County Community College is located & about 20 minutes east of Beloit where the North Central Technical College is located. Waconda Lake is 45 miles west and Milford Reservoir is 35 miles east. The county has excellent agricultural property and offers many hunting and fishing opportunities. Our district has set goals to promote academic excellence, increase student achievement in local and state testing. We continue to develop strategies and improve programs, and to use technology and innovation ideas to increase technology and innovative ideas to increase educational opportunities. Academically, we offer our students Art, Spanish, Industrial Arts/Vocational Agriculture, Journalism, Band, Vocal, Business, Computers, and all the core academic areas to complete for Kansas Regents Qualifications and Scholars. We do offer college dual credit courses for our Juniors and Seniors from Cloud County Community College. Our high school students have a variety of activities available to them including, FFA, Cheerleading, Cross Country, Volleyball, Football, Basketball, Track & Field, Golf, Scholars Bowl, and Trap Shooting Team.
