Job Title: Flint Hills Summer Fun Camp Teacher/Specials Job Brief: - We are looking for people who enjoy being part of a school community and can implement educational programs for students with special needs. Your responsibilities will include reinforcing learning for students, providing positive behavior support, andteaching various components within the age levels of your classroom group. Our camp is looking for creative teachers who enjoy being supported by good teammates and is willing to work with students of varying abilities. We strive to work as a team to help students meet their full potential through the implementation of dynamic educational programs. This is an ideal opportunity for those who want to continue providing opportunities for our students who need continued structure during the summer break.
Location: Marlatt Elementary School Hours Per Day: - Classroom Teacher: 7.5 hours/day, 8-4 (30 min. lunch), 6 weeks
- One day of orientation will be scheduled prior to camp starting. May be afternoon/evening hours.
- Specials Teacher: 3 hours/ 2 days a week. (Able to provide instruction in at least one of the following: Music, Drama, PE, Art, SEL, Science, Social Studies, Lego Therapy)
Days Per Year: Qualifications: - Minimum requirements are certificate/licensure in teaching, Special Education preferred.
- Previous experience working with students who have special needs is highly recommended.
- All USD 383 employees must pass a background check.
Reports To: - Teacher/Camp Director/Special Education director or Special Education assistant director.
Job Duties: - Full range of educational/non-educational duties in the following areas: classroom, clerical, breakfast/lunch/recess duties, assisting with personal needs.
- Appropriately deal with confidentiality issues and attend appropriate in-service training.
- Abides by the general policy rules and regulations of USD 383.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Camp Director, or Special Education Supervisor.
- Prepared to supervise and participate in off-site activities such as 1st tee at the golf course, Friday swimming at the pool (teachers are expected to be in the water), possible trips to the zoo, the beach museum, the movie theater, public library, or other community activities.
