JOB TITLE: Elementary Intervention Teacher: 2026-2027 School Year

 

JOB BRIEF:   

  • To help provide the kind of instructional and learning environment that will enable each student in the district to improve academic skills and behavioral management strategies appropriate to age, grade level, and individual capacity.

LOCATION: Bluemont Elementary

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.
  • Valid Kansas teacher’s certificate and endorsement in the area of application or assignment.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
  • all USD 383 employees must pass a background check.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT/SALARY:  

  • Full time school year position.
  • Based on Salary Schedule.
  • 2025-2026 Salary Schedule
  • 2026-2027 Salary yet to be established.

REPORTS TO:  Building Principal. 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Meets with, plans for, and instructs assigned students through an MTSS model.
  • Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the District.
  • Collaborates with staff concerning individual students having academic or behavioral difficulties.
  • Administers and interprets, as appropriate, district test results and statistical data concerning math and reading.
  • Implements strategies consistent with the school’s positive behavioral interventions and supports to promote appropriate student behavior and social-emotional growth.
  • Assist in the selection of materials appropriate for remediating problems.
  • Supports and plans response to interventions strategies for those aides assigned to their caseload.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to implement a variety of teaching interventions.
  • Attends and participates in staff and faculty meetings.
  • Demonstrates instructional and interpersonal strategies and techniques that are responsive to the cultural, ethnic, economic, and linguistic differences of students.
  • Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning both the broad academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students. 
  • Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board policy. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the principal.

  • USD 383 makes monthly contributions to a 403(b)-retirement account for all certified and eligible employees.
  • KPERS (Kansas Public Employees Retirement System): 6% monthly staff contribution. Vested after five years.

TECHNOLOGY: 

  • District provided devices - iPad, laptop and/or desktop for certified staff.

PAID COLLABORATION TIME. 

 

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

 

EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board of Education’s policy on evaluation of certified personnel.
