JOB BRIEF:  

  • A middle school math teacher plays a crucial role in educating and shaping the minds of students during their crucial transition years. The teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing math lessons and activities that align with the curriculum standards and educational goals set by the school and district. The middle school math teacher creates a positive and engaging learning environment, supports students' academic and personal development, and collaborates with colleagues and parents to ensure student success. 

 LOCATION: Eisenhower Middle School

QUALIFICATIONS:   

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.  
  • Valid Kansas teachers certificate and endorsement in the area of application or assignment.  
  • Strong knowledge of middle school math content, curriculum, and instructional strategies. 
  • Previous teaching experience preferred.  
  • All USD383 employees must pass a background check. 

REPORTS TO:    

  • Building Principal.  
  • Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board of Educations policy on evaluation of certified personnel.  

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Design and develop math curriculum and lesson plans that adhere to state and district standards. 
  • Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress and achievement. 
  • Analyze assessment data to identify individual student needs and adjust instructional strategies accordingly. 
  • Utilize various teaching strategies and techniques to facilitate student learning and active participation. 
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages respect, collaboration, and academic growth. 
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure student behavior and discipline. 
  • Provide additional support, enrichment, and accommodations for students with diverse learning needs. 
  • Collaborate with other math teachers and colleagues to develop and align curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessments. 
  • Participate in department meetings, professional development sessions, and workshops to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on educational trends. 
  • Foster open communication and maintain positive relationships with parents, providing regular updates on students' progress and addressing any concerns. 
  • Other duties as assigned by administration.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT/SALARY:   Full time school year position.  Based on Salary Schedule.  2023-2024 Salary Schedule
