To help provide the kind of instructional and learning environment that will enable each student in the district to improve academic skills and behavioral management strategies appropriate to age, grade level, and individual capacity. 

 LOCATION: Frank Bergman Elementary

FLSA STATUS:Exempt  

QUALIFICATIONS:   

  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.  
  2. Five years Teaching Experience 
  3. Valid Kansas teachers certificate and endorsement in the area of application or assignment.  
  4. Certified as a special math or reading teacher.  
  5. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. 
  6. All USD 383 employees must pass a background check.

REPORTS TO: Building Principal 

  1. Building Principal.  
  2. Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board of Educations policy on evaluation of certified personnel.  

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  1. Meets with, plans for, and instructs assigned students through an MTSS model. 
  2. Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning within the limits of the resources provided by the District. 
  3. Collaborates with staff concerning individual students having academic or behavioral difficulties. 
  4. Administers and interprets, as appropriate, FASTbridge test results and statistical data concerning math and reading. 
  5. Implements strategies consistent with the schools positive behavioral interventions and supports to promote appropriate student behavior and social-emotional growth. 
  6. Assist in the selection of materials appropriate for remediating problems. 
  7. Supports and plans response to interventions strategies for those aides assigned to their caseload. 
  8. Possesses a knowledge of operation and use of a variety of teaching interventions including but not limited to 95 Percent Group and I-Ready. 
  9. Attends and participates in staff and faculty meetings. 
  10. Performs other duties as assigned by the principal.

RETIREMENT:

  • USD 383 makes monthly contributions to a 403(b)-retirement account for all certified and eligible employees.
  • KPERS (Kansas Public Employees Retirement System): 6% monthly staff contribution. Vested after five years.  

TECHNOLOGY:  

  • District provided devices - iPad, laptop and/or desktop for certified staff.
