Hoisington High School is seeking a passionate and creative Art Teacher to inspire and guide high school students through a dynamic visual arts curriculum. The ideal candidate will foster artistic expression, critical thinking, and a love of the arts in a supportive classroom environment.

 

Responsibilities:

Teach  a variety of art courses (e.g., Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Digital Art, Photo Imaging, Graphic Design) 

Create engaging, standards-based lesson plans

Promote student creativity, technique, and artistic growth

Organize student art exhibitions and participate in school-wide events

Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment

 

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Art Education or related field

Valid teaching certification in Visual Arts (Grades 9-12)

Strong classroom management and communication skills

Experience with various art mediums and digital tools (preferred)

Hoisington USD 431 is located in central Kansas. District enrollment of approximately 700 students. Two elementary schools: Roosevelt Elementary - Grades PreK - 1, and Lincoln Elementary - Grades 2 - 5.  Hoisington Middle School - Grades 6-8 and Hoisington High School - Grades 9-12.  Hoisington is a district with a 1:1 technology plan and community support for the district.  This is evidenced by the recent construction of a new building for Lincoln Elementary and security upgrades throughout the district.  In 2023, artificial turf and all weather track will be updated at Hoisington High School Football field. An activity center was also constructed that includes a 2000 seat gymnasium, wrestling practice facility, weight training room and other areas utilized by the school district and community.  In addition to a well rounded academic program, Hoisington has competitive athletic and co-curricular programs.
